In Tyler, Texas on June 8, 2006, at my age of 77, we opened Pets and Friends, LLC, a full-line pet supply store, and Lose To Win, and a ladies fitness center. In November 2006, we added a unit of the U.S. Post Office known as a Contract Postal Unit (CPU). That same month, we added an open-to-the-public Pet Funeral Home And Crematory - the only one of its kind in all of East Texas.

The pet supply store, ladies fitness center and the post office are housed in a new 50’ x 80’ metal building with a covered front porch extending the full eighty feet across the front of the building.

The crematory, in the back adjoining the building, comprises 440 square feet and houses a state of the art Matthews Power Pac Crematory Unit designed specifically for the cremation of pets.

The business operation is situated on a full acre of land with 170 feet of frontage on a major state highway. In addition, there is an adjoining 4 acres available if needed.

It is situated one-half mile outside the Tyler city limits resulting in much lower taxes on both sales and property.

Our intent was to get the business up and running and sell the place in about two years. Because of the deteriorating economy, this did not appear feasible so we have continued to build the business.
